One-on-One Grant Writer Mentoring

The Grant Experts offers a fun (but rigorous) grant writer mentoring training that is specially designed for educators and administrators seeking to acquire grant funding for their institutions. For 2 full days, you will work, one-on-one, with some the top grant writers in the country. Check out the bios of our Mentors here. By the time you walk out of our office at the end of day 2, your skills to write (and receive) large dollar grant awards will be pushed to a whole new level.

The one-on-one mentoring training will truly be a once-in-a-lifetime career and professional growth opportunity for you (or your staff). Prior to the training, your Mentor will talk with you about your training goals, needs, and skill gaps that he/she would like to target during the training. The Mentor will analyze your grant writing style and use this input to create a training agenda and training content that is 100% customized to his/her Mentee. The one-on-one approach and the content customization of our training curriculum (based on your knowledge level and past experience with grants) expedites meaningful learning and is much more effective than going to a large group training targeted at novice attendees or groups of varying experiences.

DETAILS

Depending on your experience with grants, your 2 days of learning and bonding with your Grant Expert Mentor may cover such topics as:

  • Strategies for determining one's probability of award and fit for a grant competition
  • Partnership building
  • Good vs. bad letter of support content
  • How to develop a budget justification that is congruent with the goals and objectives of the grant narrative
  • How to write evaluation sections that use experimental or quasi-experimental research designs
  • Advanced level grant writing techniques needed to write competitive US Department of Ed grants
  • Quality control tools and strategies for managing grants and grant budgets

We also have school fundraising and capital campaign specialists who are able to customize mentoring sessions towards other areas of institutional capacity building.

For a six month period after the training is completed, our Mentors will be available for 5 additional hours (online and/or via phone) to provide support and coaching to their Mentee, as needed. This includes help with identifying grants, writing grants, reviewing grant proposals, and assisting with the development of fundraising prospect studies.

We have witnessed incredible outcomes among those who have completed our mentoring training program. Many participants report pay scale advancements and new job opportunities; others report that they finally were able to acquire the grant funding needed to get their schools off the NCLB "improvement" list.

As our training schedule for this upcoming year is already filling up quickly, we urge you to call us immediately to book your 2 day slot (888-grant41). We can come to your location or you can come to our offices in beautiful Farmington, New Mexico; which features gorgeous mesas sculpting this high desert area (right outside of Durango Colorado). We also have a wonderful retreat-like facility in the rolling green hills of Hughes Springs, Texas (2 hours east of Dallas).

COST

  • $1,800 for the full 2 day training.
